The region

Orbey is situated in the Welche region, in the heart of the Alsatian Vosges. In this small region, quality of life rhymes with nature, mountains, meadows, lakes, hiking and skiing.

Close by

Kaysersberg is just 10 km from Orbey... Colmar, Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr, Eguisheim, Bergheim, etc are just 20 km (20 minutes) away.

Typical routes

The wine route will take you from Strasbourg to Thann, passing through all those little villages with their narrow streets and half-timbered houses and balconies decorated in bright, contrasting colours.
The Crêtes route, as far as the Grand Ballon, flying over superb landscapes on either side, revealing the nearby Ballons, the sharper mountains much further away, and even small wild lakes just below...
As for the cheese route, it will take you to the Munster valley where you will discover the Marcairies and their typical "casse croûtes" and meals... You won't be able to resist trying the fromage blanc with Kirsch... Pure delight!

Gastronomy

Alsace is also a region where gastronomy goes hand in hand with the pleasures of the senses...
Of course, you're all familiar with sauerkraut, beackaoffa, Kugelhopf...
But do you know what pâté vigneron is? Roigebrageldi? Fleischschnaka?
Have you ever tasted sauerkraut salad? potato pancakes? a delicious cottage cheese tart?
And then, inevitably, as you make your way along the wine route, you'll have the chance to visit one of the many wine cellars and sample a Muscat, a Tokay or a late-harvest Gewurtz V.T....

Hiking

Hundreds of kilometres of footpaths and tracks, through vineyards and forests.
And with walks directly accessible from the house.

But Alsace is also

Yes, Alsace is also a region with plenty of opportunities to let off steam:
If you like forest walks, you'll want to stay in the mountains: trails, lakes, ridges and, for young and old alike, the 'barefoot' trail will give you new sensations...

If you're a keen cyclist, you'll love the wine trails, while the more adventurous will dare to tackle the Ballons, the Cols...
The Lac Blanc resort has a Bike Park for mountain bikers.

Do you like water? Kaysersberg's watersports centre is a delight, and the lakes of Longemer and Gerardmer will cool off hot summers...

Do you like snow? You're in for a treat here too: the Lac Blanc-Vallon ski area takes you from green runs to blue, red and finally black runs... Just 10 km away, you'll find downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and sledging.

Are you a thrill-seeker? Don't worry, the Lac Blanc adventure park will get your adrenalin pumping.
