The Wine Route (la Route du vin) takes you from Strassbourg to Thann, passing quaint little villages with their narrow cobbled alleys, coloured timbered buildings and gaily decorated balconies. The Ballon des Vosges Regional Nature Park extends over a wide variety of landscapes and environments : mountains, high upland fields, forests, valleys and lakes. It provides historical circuits, guided excursions and many guidebooks to help you explore the area... The Cheese Route (La Route du Fromage) takes in the walley of Munster, where you'll discover the traditional dairies (les marcairies) with their regional specialties. You won't ve able to resist the white cheese with Kirsch... Pure delight! |

You probably know of choucroute (sauerkraut), beackaoffa (a casserole of meat and vetetables in white wine), and Kugelhopf (a famous cake of the region)...
But do you know about le paté vigneron (winemakers' pate) ? les Roigebrageldi ( a dish of potatoes and baconn) ? or les Fleischschnaka (a meat snack) ?
Have you already tasted a choucroute salad ? potato cakes ? a delicious white cheese tart ?
And then, as you travel the Wine Route, you will inevitably visit one or the other wine cellar to sample a Muscat, a Tokay, a Gewurtztraminer V.T. "late-harvested grapes, etc... |
